Irvine, CA - April 8 - The U.S. Women's Youth National Team defeated the host nation Brazil 14-2 earlier today to win the Gold Medal at the 2023 Pan American Aquatics U17 Championships in Bauru, Brazil! Team USA was led by Amber Nowaczek with five goals scored as Keri Glad recorded four saves in the win. Amber Nowaczek was named Tournament MVP following the game. A replay of the Gold Medal victory can be accessed here.

The United States came out ready to roll, led by Nowaczek with the first two goals of the game on the way to a 4-1 lead after one. Team USA tallied five scores in the second quarter while stifling the Brazilians' offense for a 9-1 halftime advantage. The Americans had an uncharacteristic third period without finding the back of the net but Brazil deposited just one to cut the deficit to 9-2. The USA Women drilled five goals in the final frame and turned up the defense to earn the Gold Medal, 14-2.
