The Shieldy Scholarship Program is available to youth athletes under the age of 18 who demonstrate financial need.
Applicants seeking a Shieldy Scholarship must submit an application before purchasing or renewing their USA Water Polo membership. Scholarship approval is valid only for the membership term associated with the approved application. A new application is required before each membership renewal to ensure eligibility is evaluated based on current circumstances.
Applications are evaluated using a standardized scoring matrix that considers financial need, household impact, recent hardship, and the applicant's supporting narrative. Scores are used to guide award recommendations; however, final approval is subject to available funding and organizational discretion.
