Irvine, CA - April 6 - The U.S. Women's Youth National Team defeated the host nation of Brazil 14-2 at the 2023 Pan American Aquatics U17 Championships in Bauru, Brazil. Sofia Umeda and Charlotte Raisin led Team USA with three goals in the contest. A replay of the game can be

Team USA began this match completely locked in defensively and did not allow a single goal until the fourth quarter. The United States scored four times in the first quarter while shutting down the Brazilian offense. The Americans brought the most offense to the pool in the second period, finding the back of the cage five times to lead 9-0 at halftime. The USA Women kept up the perfect defense in the third quarter while scoring twice late in the period. In the final frame, Brazil finally got on the scoreboard with a pair of goals but Team USA finished it off with three more goals to claim victory, 14-2.
