Irvine, CA - April 3 - The U.S. Women's Youth National Team defeated Canada 20-4 earlier today at the 2023 Pan American Aquatics U17 Championships in Bauru, Brazil. Katherine O'Dea, Amber Nowaczek, Sofia Umeda, and Reagan Weir all notched hat tricks in the win while Orli Cooper recorded three saves on the day. Team USA returns to action tomorrow, April 4 vs. Colombia at 8:00am et/5:00am pt. The game will stream LIVE on the ABDA Bauru YouTube channel.

The United States started with four goals in the the first quarter, taking advantage of two power play opportunities and allowing just one Canadian goal. The Americans stepped it up in the second period, scoring six times with half on power plays again while Canada added one more to make the score 10-2 at halftime. In the third quarter, Team USA put home five goals while ratcheting up the defense to hold the Canadians scoreless. In the final frame, the USA Women went 5/5 from the field as Canada put in two to set the 20-4 final score.
