Irvine, CA - July 22 - Makenzie Fischer has been named as a finalist for the 2019 TEAM Sportswoman of the Year Award. Consistently one of Team USA's top scorers Fischer scored eight goals at the 2019 FINA World League Super Final as Team USA won gold and qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She also scored ten goals at the 2018 FINA World Cup in another gold medal win. On the college side Fischer was named the top college women's athlete as she won the 2019 Cutino Award, was named a First Team All-American, NCAA Tournament MVP, MPSF Player of the Year and led the Cardinal with 80 goals as they captured the 2019 NCAA Championship.
