Day 1

Marseille 15 - 9 Tourcoing

Marseille and Tourcoing played in the first match of the second tournament. Tourcoing didn't surprise the favorite, but it kept up with Marseille in the first half. At the beginning of the second period, Marseille held a 4-2 lead. Tourcoing leveled at 4-4. Then, Marseille scored three goals in three consecutive attacks. Marseille maintained a 3-goal distance until the last break and doubled the advantage in the final frame.

Noisy-le-Sec 9 - 8 Strasbourg

Noisy-le-Sec dictated the pace in the middle two quarters of the game against Strasbourg, but the home team had to battle to the end for three points. Noisy had a big 8-3 lead in the middle of the third period, however, Strasbourg managed to erase the deficit. The visitors produced a 5-0 run and tied the game with 86 seconds left on the clock. Noisy earned a 6-on-5 in its next possession and scored the winner. Team USA attacker Alex Bowen scored twice for Noisy in the win.

Day 2

Marseille 20 - 11 Noisy-le-Sec

In the first half, this contest looked like it would be an exciting duel. After a balanced first period (4-4), Marseille took a 6-4 lead. Noisy answered, but then Marseille scored four unanswered goals to go up 10-5. There was no way back for Noisy. In the second half, Marseille stretched the margin to nine. Bowen deposited four goals into the back of the net for Noisy.

Day 3

Marseille 22 - 7 Strasbourg

On Day 3, Marseille did what it had to do. It beat Strasbourg and officially secured its 40th French League championship! Strasbourg was a tough opponent, but only in the first quarter. From the second period, Marseille dominated and thrashed the rival, 22-7. Team USA attacker Hannes Daube scored four times to help Marseille clinch the title.

Noisy-le-Sec 14 - 13 Tourcoing

Noisy had a 5-goal lead in the middle of the third quarter. In the 25th minute, Tourcoing narrowed the distance to three, but Alex Bowen quickly responded to make it 10-6, one of his four goals on the day. After that, Noisy couldn't find the net in the last seven minutes of the game, while Tourcoing netted four. Tourcoing scored an equalizer with nine seconds to go and the game entered a shootout. Noisy won two points after the shootout (14-13), but one point kept Tourcoing's hopes of climbing to 2nd Place alive.

Game 2 (Best of 3)

Vouliagmeni 16 - 13 Apollon Smyrnis

Team USA center Matt Farmer, defender Dylan Woodhead, and Vouliagmeni tied their semifinal series against Apollon 1-1 with a 16-13 victory in Game 2.

Vouliagmeni led throughout this contest. In the second quarter, the visitors built a 3-goal lead. Apollon responded in the third period, leveling the score at 9-9. Vouliagmeni regained control and pushed ahead by three before the final frame and maintained the advantage until the end.


Game 3 (Best of 3)

Vouliagmeni 15 - 9 Apollon Smyrnis

The first quarter belonged to Apollon, but Vouliagmeni controlled the second period, earning a 7-3 lead. Apollon halved the deficit before halftime but early in the third, the hosts went up 8-5. Apollon was still in the game late as they trailed 7-10 before the last quarter. In the 27th minute, Apollon had a chance on a penalty shot but failed to score. Shortly after, Vouliagmeni regained a 4-goal advantage and sealed the victory. Woodhead recorded a hat trick and Farmer added one score as Vouliagmeni advanced to the Final against Olympiacos!

Game 1

Vouliagmeni 9 - 10 Olympiacos

Olympiacos started strong, building a 3-goal lead by the fifth minute (4-1). Two goals separated the rivals after the first period. By halftime, Olympiacos was up 7-4. Early in the third, a penalty gave Olympiacos a 4-goal lead for the first time. Vouliagmeni made it 5-8 in the middle of the quarter, but 19 seconds before the last break, Olympiacos converted a man-up and the hosts led 9-5 after 24 minutes. Olympiacos was awarded a penalty shot in the first possession in the fourth quarter and the hosts went ahead 10-5. Still, Vouliagmeni didn't surrender and it got back in the game by scoring three consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 8-10. Olympiacos' attack didn't work well in the final quarter. Vouliagmeni converted a penalty for 9-10 with 39 seconds left on the clock, but ran out of time to equalize.


Italian League, Playoffs, Semifinals 1-4 Place

Game 1 (Best of 3)

Pro Recco 18 - 9 Telimar

The match between Pro Recco and Telimar began with plenty of early goals. Telimar took an early lead, scoring two goals in a row, before Pro Recco responded with two goals to tie the game. As the first period progressed, Pro Recco managed to pull ahead, scoring three more goals while Telimar managed to score two, making the score 5-4 in favor of Pro Recco after one. In the second period, Pro Recco scored five goals while allowing only one, bringing the halftime score to 10-5. The third period saw Pro Recco continue to extend its lead, with the European champions growing their advantage to 16-7. In the last eight minutes of the match, both teams scored two goals, resulting in a final score of 18-9. Team USA center Ben Hallock scored three for Pro Recco while Team USA attacker Johnny Hooper put home two for Telimar.


Game 2 (Best of 3)

Pro Recco 11 - 5 Telimar

In the second game, Pro Recco secured an easy victory over Telimar and advanced to the Italian League Final! The game started with Pro Recco taking an early 4-1 lead in the opening frame. In the second period, both teams scored two goals, bringing the score to 6-3 at halftime. Pro Recco continued their dominance in the third and fourth periods, increasing the difference to six, resulting in a 11-5 final. Hallock scored once in the win and Team USA attacker Max Irving notched two goals for Telimar.


Italian League, Playoffs, Semifinals 5-8 Place

Game 1 (Best of 3)

Posillipo 10 - 11 Trieste

In the first game of the 5th-8th Place semifinals, the opening period was a high-scoring affair with nine goals. Trieste scored five goals and allowed Posillipo four. In the second period, both teams scored two goals for a 7-6 halftime advantage for Trieste. After a missed penalty from Trieste at the start of the third period, the visitors tied the score 8-8 at the end of the third. At the start of the fourth, Posillipo scored two goals in a row for 10-8. Trieste returned the favor in the 30th minute to level at 10-10 and the host took victory with a goal in the 31st minute. Team USA attackers Ben Stevenson and Tyler Abramson led Posillipo in scoring with three and two goals respectively.


Game 2 (Best of 3)

Posillipo 7 - 9 Trieste

Posillipo started the second game strongly, taking a 2-0 lead in the first period. However, Trieste fought back and managed to level the score at 2-2 by the end of the period. In the second quarter, the hosts scored two goals to take a 4-2 lead before Trieste scored to reduce the deficit to 4-3. The visitors came back strongly in the third period and managed to tie the game at 5-5. In the final frame, Trieste took the lead at 8-5, but Posillipo responded with two quick goals to make it 7-8. Trieste scored the winning goal in the 31st minute again, securing victory for the visitors. Stevenson tallied three goals and Abramson netted one for Posillipo in defeat.

Game 1 (Best of 3)

Barcelona 8 - 17 Barceloneta

Barceloneta quickly earned a big advantage in the duel with Barcelona. The reigning champion opened the game with a 3-0 lead. In the middle of the second period, the distance grew to four goals (7-3). All that Barcelona was able to do in the remaining time was cut the deficit to three a few times. Early in the fourth period, the visitors trailed 5-8. In the following minutes, Barceloneta produced a 4-0 run, jumped ahead 12-5 before the final break, and sealed the victory.


Game 2 (Best of 3)

Barcelona 8 - 12 Barceloneta

Game 2 between Barcelona and Barceloneta was an even contest until 4-4. At the finish of the first half, Barceloneta put home three goals in a row and headed into the third quarter leading 7-4. Barceloneta extended its lead with an action goal in the 19th minute for 8-4. Barcelona converted on a man-up advantage on the following possession and added an action goal shortly after to give some hope to the hosts. Barceloneta finished the third quarter in the same way as the second period – by scoring three consecutive goals to build a safe lead before the final frame and advance past Barcelona. Team USA attacker Marko Vavic scored one for Barcelona on the day.

Spanish Women's League, Day 22

Sabadell 15 - 4 Barceloneta

Sabadell ended their regular season on a high note with a comfortable 15-4 win over Barceloneta at Can Llong. Team USA captain Maggie Steffens led the charge for David Palma's team, scoring four goals and helping Sabadell secure its twenty-first win. Barceloneta managed to score the first goal of the game but quickly gave in to Sabadell's relentless offense.


Sant Andreu 14 - 11 CN Catalunya

Sant Andreu secured its place in the playoffs with an end of season win over Catalunya. Team USA attacker Tara Prentice netted one goal for Sant Andreu in the victory.
