CN Sabadell picked up the win in the first match of the finals of the Women's Division de Honor, 11-9, over CN Mataro. Team USA captain Maggie Steffens and defender Brigitta Games each scored once for Sabadell in the opening victory.
Following the opening win, Sabadell fell to Mataro in a tight match that culminated in a penalty shootout. Mataro outlasted Sabadell, 13-12, to even the final series 1-1 and set up a winner-take-all scenario in the third and final match. Maggie Steffens scored twice on the day, including during the penalty shootout.
Sabadell held on to win their decisive match against Mataro, 10-7, to claim the Women's Division de Honor title. Sabadell got off to a quick start, including a goal from Maggie Steffens with one attack left in the opening period, to make it 3-0 after one quarter. Mataro eventually got going, but could not bring themselves closer than two goals behind the champions. The victory marks an astonishing 19th time Sabadell has won the Women's Division de Honor title.
