The winner of the S & R Sport Club of the Month for December 2016 is South Bay United Water Polo Club from Southern California. For winning, South Bay United will receive a gift from S & R Sport. I am humbled to nominate South Bay United Water Polo Club for S&R Sport's Club of the Month award. Over the past year SBU has reshaped our club to support all athletes from our surrounding communities to encourage kids of all ages to join the sport of water polo. We teach our players and parents that good Sportsmanship towards the competition, referees and parents is held to the highest standard. We feel that the focus on good sportsmanship has allowed SBU to enjoy the successes we have had over the past year.

For instance, we re-started both our HS Boys and HS girls programs last season. We grew our membership from 70 athletes to over 120 so far this year. We had 4 teams qualify for the Junior Olympic tournament last July and three of them finished in the Platinum bracket - a club first for SBU. We continue our goals of supporting the surrounding communities by adding top tier coaches from the US National teams and surrounding Div 1 water polo programs. The continued success and growth of our club would not be possible without the amazing support from our parents who continue to help drive our goals to attract athletes to the great sport of water polo.
