Rose Bowl Water Polo Club Wins Double Gold At Champions Cup In Hawaii

FINAL RESULTS

Honolulu, HI - November 14 - The 2016 Champions Cup concluded yesterday in Hawaii where a team from Pasadena, California stole the show as the Rose Bowl Water Polo Club claimed gold in both the boy's and girl's divisions. 12 teams took part in the boy's division of the 14U National Championship with Rose Bowl taking first followed by CC United in second and SOCAL in third. On the girl's side, featuring nine teams competing, Rose Bowl was followed by SOCAL in second and San Diego Shores in third. For complete results, click here.

Prior to the first and third place games beginning, the Jody Campbell and Maureen O'Toole Sportsmanship Awards were presented to athletes from each team competing at the TYR Champions Cup. Campbell and O'Toole have a storied history within USA Water Polo as Campbell helped the USA Men's Olympic Water Polo Team to consecutive silver medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games while O'Toole was a key member of the USA Women's Olympic Water Polo Team that won silver at the 2000 Olympic Games, the first to ever offer women's water polo. Congratulations to all the athletes selected.
