Kragujevac, Serbia - August 12 - The USA Men's Cadet National Team dropped a 12-8 decision to Croatia on the third day of competition at the Darko Cucic Memorial Tournament. Ashworth Molthen scored four goals, Hannes Daube added three goals and Anthony Rethans posted 10 saves in net. Team USA returns to action tomorrow with matches against Australia and Slovakia.
The two teams were close after the first eight minutes even at 1-1. In the second period Croatia surged ahead for a 5-3 lead at halftime. The third period saw Croatia expand their lead ahead at 8-5 followed by a fourth quarter with four more goals to take the match at 12-8. Team USA went 2/8 on power play attempts.
