Rotterdam, Netherlands - May 6 - The USA Women wrapped up play today at the 2026 World Aquatics World Cup Division 1 Tournament with a 13-3 win over Italy. Rachel Fattal scored four goals for the United States and goalkeeper Amanda Longan was a force in net with 12 saves. Team USA finishes the tournament in first place after a 5-1 record in Rotterdam and will travel to Sydney, Australia in July for the World Aquatics World Cup Final.
Team USA came out ready to play and jumped all over Italy early. Jewel Roemer provided the game's first goal midway through the opening quarter before Fattal and Ryann Neushul added to the tally for a 3-0 lead after one.
Jenna Flynn continued the run with an opening possession goal in the second period and Fattal made it five with a shot from six meters. Then, Italy picked up a pair of goals to get on the scoreboard before Roemer found the back of the net again to push the American lead to 6-2 at halftime.
The United States won the sprint to begin the third and Jovana Sekulic paid it off with another goal on the opening possession of a quarter. Team USA would go on to dispel any doubt with three goals from Emily Ausmus, Fattal, and Ava Stryker to end the third up 10-2.
From there, the fourth period was a formality but the Americans played through the final whistle. Roemer recorded a hat trick on yet another opening possession score prior to Italy earning its final goal of the game via penalty shot. Fattal and Rachel Gazzaniga scored back-to-back goals late to give the United States a 13-3 victory.
Team USA went 1/6 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties while Italy went 0/6 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties.
