Team USA utility Jovana Sekulic and Olympiacos lost an epic 31-goal match to UVSE, 16-15, in Group A competition. The loss leaves Olympiacos still waiting to qualify for the Final Eight ahead of a clash with DFVE next month. Meanwhile in Group B play, Team USA attackers Jewel Roemer and Paige Hauschild got the win over Ekipe Orizzonte, 12-11, to confirm Mataro's spot in the Final Eight. Elsewhere in Group B, Team USA center Tara Prentice scored once for Sabadell in a 9-7 loss to Terrassa. Despite the loss, the Spanish side is through to the Final Eight as the second place team behind Mataro.

Team USA attacker Hannes Daube starred for Apollon Smyrnis with nine goals in its 20-16 win over Partizan Belgrade. He followed that up with five more goals in Apollon Smyrnis' 19-8 victory over OSC Potsdam. Finally, Daube notched four goals in the decisive 15-13 win against Greek rival Panionios to clinch first place in Group A and bring his goal total to 18 on the weekend.

Mataro 11, Terrassa 10
Prentice and Team USA goalkeeper Isabel Williams dominated Tenerife Echeyde, 24-4, in Spain. Prentice scored once for Sabadell while Team USA attacker Maryn Dempsey scored twice for Tenerife Echeyde in defeat. In Terrassa, Roemer and Hauschild came up big for Mataro in its one-goal win. Roemer netted three goals and was named match MVP while Hauschild put home three goals of her own, including the game-winner with 0:03 remaining.
