Team USA roared out of the gates to open this match, building a 4-0 lead thanks in large part to three goals from Ryder Dodd. Brazil stopped the USA run with a goal at the mid-point of the period but Irving and Hannes Daube returned fire with goals and Team USA made a statement in the first, leading 6-1. In the second quarter it was all about the defense from the United States as they held Brazil scoreless. Dylan Woodhead hit on a power play in the opening minute of the period and Irving added another goal a few minutes later to setup an 8-1 lead at halftime.

The third quarter was a bit similar to the first as Team USA opened it with a barrage of offense. Chase Dodd scored in the opening two minutes followed by goals from Irving and Ben Liechty for an 11-1 advantage with 3:07 remaining in the third. Brazil found their footing moments later running off three straight goals to cut into the USA lead, trailing 11-4 with :33 remaining in the third. Irving and the United States had the last word as he hit on a power play with just two seconds to play in the quarter for a 12-4 edge going to the fourth.

Ryder Dodd scored his fourth to start the fourth for a 13-4 lead. Brazil scored two of the next three to make it a 14-5 game but the United States wouldn't be denied on this day. Connor Ohl made the most of limited action, scoring twice in the quarter, the second coming on a penalty shot in the final minutes to give the United States 15-6 lead. Jake Ehrhardt polished off the scoring with less than a minute to play as the United States rolled to victory.

Team USA went 7/10 on power plays and 1/2 on penalties while Brazil went 1/4 on power plays with no penalties attempted.
