Long Beach, CA - April 20 - The USA Women's National Team began play in a three-game series with China tonight and picked up a 17-7 win at Long Beach City College.
Jenna Flynn and
Emma Lineback scored four goals each while
Ashleigh Johnson notched seven saves in goal. The two teams return to play on Monday at Long Beach City College with a 6pm pt start. The match will stream LIVE on Overnght.com.

China began the game with a pair of goals from Jing Zhang and Sanfeng Nong to put Team USA on its heels. The red, white, and blue turned to
Maddie Musselman on consecutive counter attacks to level the score before
Rachel Fattal found the back of the net through the arms of the Chinese defense. Late in the quarter, Zewen Deng converted a player advantage for China and then
Ryann Neushul earned a penalty with :01 remaining and Flynn put the United States in front 4-3.
In the second period, Zhang put home her second score and Siya Yan added to the Chinese tally as Lineback fired in her first two goals and Flynn pushed Team USA in front 7-5 at the break.
The Team USA women locked things down in the third quarter, pitching a shutout over the next eight minutes. The stellar defense and seven goals for the Americans left no doubt to the outcome of this contest. Team captain

Jovana Sekulic, and
Jordan Raney all poured in goals to set the score at 14-5 heading into the final frame.
Deng rebounded with two more goals for China in the fourth as the offensive engines Lineback (2) and Flynn answered with three for Team USA who cruised to the 17-7 win.
Team USA went 5/11 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties while China went 4/11 on power plays and 0/1 on penalties.
