Doha, Qatar - February 12Â - The USA Women's National Team advanced to the semifinal round of the 2024 World Aquatics World Championships with a 10-9 win over Australia.Â
Maddie Musselman piled on three goals for Team USA whileÂ

Maggie Steffens each added two in the win.Â

Flynn and Steffens were the sole scores for the United States in the first quarter then later onÂ
Maddie Musselman went back to back to make it 5-3 at the half. Headed into the third, Johnson tallied a collective 8 saves for Team USA, then later on Steffens andÂ
Jovana Sekulic each added another to round out the scoring 8-3. After goals on each side,Â
Jewel Roemer added a 10th goal to the USA scoreboard. Australia would rally though as they got five unanswered goals in the final quarter of play. In the final eight seconds of play, Team USA was able to hold off any additional Australian goals and take the 10-9 win to advance to the semifinal round.Â
The United States went 5/9 on power plays and 2/2 on penalties while Australia was 3/6 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty.Â
