Fukuoka, Japan - July 28 - Two-time Olympic gold medalist and four-time World Champion,
Maddie Musselman, added another accolade to her storied career as she was named World Aquatics Women's Water Polo Athlete of the Year for 2022. Musselman, a UCLA graduate, played a pivotal role in Team USA's run to a fourth consecutive title last year in Budapest, Hungary. She was honored tonight in Japan following the completion of Team USA's fifth-place victory over Hungary. Musselman racked up a team-high 20 goals during the gold medal run in Budapest last year and was named the gold medal match MVP and was selected to the media all-star team. Next up for Musselman and Team USA will be the Pan American Games this fall in Santiago, Chile.
