The Olympic Club Reveals Women's Cutino Award Finalists

San Francisco, CA - May 25 - The Olympic Club has announced the women's finalists for the Peter J. Cutino Award, an iconic honor in NCAA water polo to recognize the best men's and women's players each year. The women's finalists are Aria Fischer (Stanford), Ryann Neushul (Stanford), and Tilly Kearns (USC).

Aria Fischer was named MVP of the MPSF and NCAA Tournaments after she led Stanford to a second straight national championship over USC. Fischer was the top scorer for the Cardinal with 71 goals and climbed into the top five in school history with 226 career goals scored. She also led the team with 43 assists handed out this season.

Ryann Neushul helped Stanford win the national championship for the second season in a row. Neushul notched 62 goals with a team-high 21 multiple-goal games, including all three games of the NCAA Tournament run, resulting in a spot on the All-Tournament First Team following an All-MPSF First Team selection.

Tilly Kearns racked up 69 goals, 35 drawn exclusions, and 35 steals for University of Southern California. Kearns scored twice, drew two exclusions, and dished out one assist in the NCAA Championship against Stanford. She was named to the All-Tournament First Team after an All-MPSF First Team nod this season.

The Cutino Awards will take place on the evening of Saturday, June 3rd at The Olympic Club in San Francisco. Established in 1999 by The Olympic Club, the Cutino Award is given annually to the top men's and women's NCAA Division I water polo players as voted on by coaches from across the country. The namesake of the award is a legend in United States water polo history, with eight NCAA titles as head coach at Cal. The Olympic Club has a long and distinguished competitive water polo history, a tradition that continues today in the pool with some of the best age-group teams in the world.
