Hungary took an early lead in this game, scoring twice in the opening quarter without allowing a score to hold a 2-0 lead after the first period. In the second quarter, Cohen, Rosalie Hassett, and Raisin scored for the United States while the Hungarians added four more to put them ahead 6-3 at halftime.
Kirra Pantaleon and Alimarie Deprez found the back of the net in the third for the Americans as Hungary took advantage of two player advantages and a penalty shot to increase their lead to 9-5 headed to the fourth. Team USA brought the energy in the fourth quarter as they found the back of the cage three times from Cohen (2) and Raisin to cut the deficit to one before Hungary tacked one on late to solidify their 10-8 victory.
Team USA scored twice on power plays with no penalty shots attempted while Hungary scored thrice on power plays and went 1/1 on penalties.
