VOTE FOR MAGGIE

Irvine, CA - August 12 - Maggie Steffens, the captain of the USA Women's National Team and a three-time Olympic champion, is up for another major accolade as she was named a finalist for the Women's Sports Foundation SportsWoman of the Year. In the last 12 months Steffens helped guide Team USA to an unprecedented third straight Olympic title in Tokyo, where she also became the all-time leading scorer in women's water polo history at the Olympic Games. Add to that, FINA Player of the Year honors for 2021 and a fourth straight FINA World Championship earlier this summer. Now, Steffens is being recognized among the best female athletes in the United States with this nomination. Fan voting is open through August 22, click here to cast your vote for Maggie. Winners will be announced on October 12. Steffens looks to become just the second water polo athlete to win this award, joining teammate Ashleigh Johnson who was honored in 2016.
