The USA Men's National Team was back in action today from Duisburg, Germany where they took on the German National Team in an exhibition match and came away victorious, 12-10.
Team USA center
Matt Farmer opened the scoring for the Americans to tie the game at 1-1 with 4:43 remaining in the opening period. The sides remained tied after one as Team USA attackers
Tyler Abramson and Chase Dodd scored to offset two goals from the Germans.
The two sides traded goals to open the second quarter as Team USA two-meter defender
Dylan Woodhead and attacker
Ben Stevenson kept things even before Stevenson and Team USA center
Kacper Langiewicz extended the Americans' lead. A late goal from Germany left the score 7-6 in favor of the USA Men at halftime.
The Germans found the back of the net three times in the third period but Team USA hung around. Team USA attackersÂ
Hannes Daube and Abramson scored midway through and in the closing minute to tie the score at 9-9.
In the final frame, the USA Men turned up the defensive effort to hold Germany to a single goal. That allowed the offense to pick up as well with Farmer, Woodhead, and attacker Tommy Gruwell all getting one to go in the fourth quarter to propel the Americans to the 12-10 win.
