USA Women Defeat Cuba 21-2 For Their Second Straight Win In Peru

Lima, Peru - March 8 - The USA Water Polo Women's National Team picked up their second straight win at the FINA Intercontinental Cup with a 21-2 victory over Cuba. Jenna Flynn scored five goals and Taylor Smith added four in the victory. Amanda Longan led the way in net with 6 saves. A full replay is available below. Team USA jumped out to a quick start with a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and an 8-1 lead at halftime. The United States left no doubt piling up 10 unanswered goals in the third quarter to secure an 18-1 edge going to the fourth quarter. The offense slowed a bit in the final period as Cuba held Team USA to three goals while adding one of their own to end things at 21-2. Team USA went 2/5 on power plays and 1/3 on penalties while Cuba went 1/5 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties.
