USA Women Drop First Match at FINA Intercontinental Cup to Canada

Amanda Longan notched 19 saves in Team USA's loss to Canada
Lima, Peru - March 11 - The USA Women's Senior National Team lost for the first time at the FINA Intercontinental Cup in Peru, 6-5 to Canada. Taylor Smith scored two goals to lead the United States and Amanda Longan captained the defense with 19 saves. A full replay is available below.
 
Team USA and Canada were locked in a tight contest early and the teams entered halftime all square at 2-2. In the third quarter, the Americans scored to take the lead 3-2 going into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, the Canadians put the game away with a 4-2 quarter score, solidifying the 6-5 loss for the United States.
