Jewel Roemer scored twice to lead the United States as

Team USA and Hungary were even from the beginning as the score was 3-3 after the first period with goals from
Denise Mammolito and Shabb (2). In the second quarter,
Ryann Neushul and
Rachel Fattal scored for the Ameicans before Hungary responded with three straight goals to hold a 6-5 halftime advantage. After the break, Roemer converted on a pair of player advantages for Team USA before a goal from the Hungarians tied the score at 7-7 going into the fourth period. In the final frame, Rita Keszthelyi scored on a penalty shot before Jenna Flynn answered to tie the game again (8-8). Then, Krisztina Garda and Dorottya Szilagyi found the back of the cage for Hungary to push the lead to two. With time winding down, the United States had
Jordan Raney convert on a power play opportunity to push Team USA within one, but that was as far as they would come, falling 11-10.
The United States went 4/10 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties while Hungary went 2/10 on power plays and 1/1 on penalties.
