Naples, Italy - July 8 - The USA Men's National Team finished group play undefeated at the World University Games following a 10-8 win over France and a 13-8 victory over Russia. In the win over France four different players scored two goals for Team USA to lead the attack while Tyler Abramson delivered four goals to pace the USA attack against Russia. Team USA jumped out to a 4-2 lead over France before France rallied in the second with four goals. The United States started the second half ahead 7-6 as the offenses cooled off with each side scoring just once in the third quarter. Team USA was able to increase their lead in the fourth to secure the two goal victory.
Jake Ehrhardt, Kasper Langiewicz, Bennett Williams and Quinn Woodhead all connected for two goals in the win.
In the victory over Russia things were close early on with Team USA holding a 3-2 lead after the first period. That all changed in the second when then United States blanked Russia 5-0 to grab an 8-2 lead at halftime. Russia looked to rally in the second half with four goals in the third but Team USA kept pace holding a 10-6 lead after three. The United States added three more goals in the fourth to pick up the victory. In addition to the four goals from Abramson, Jake Cavano, Evan Rosenfeld and Williams all added two goals.
