USA Men's Youth Battle Brazil to Tie 7-7

The United States and Brazil battled it out in the opening game of Day Five of the UANA Junior Pan American Championships. USA scored first but after that Brazil gained the lead. The USA fought throughout the game to tie it at seven in the final seconds. Marco Stanchi and Thomas Dunstan both scored two goals to lead the USA's offense while Brazil's offense came from a joint effort. Alex Wolf made 10 saves in the goal for the United States and Bernardo Oliveira also made 10 saves for Brazil.

Stanchi scored the first goal of the game to put the USA on top but Brazil's Guicherme Gomes took advantage of a five-meter penalty shot to tie the score at one. Pedro Real then gained the lead for Brazil to pull them ahead 2-1 Brazil after one quarter

In the second quarter, Brazil expanded their lead with two 6x5 goals by Pedro Stellat, and another goal by Pedro Real. Dunstan scored for the USA to make the score 5-2 Brazil at halftime.

The United States went on a three goal run with goals by Dunstan, Stanchi, and Bennett Williams to tie the game at five but Brazil's Gomes answered to regain the lead of 6-5 Brazil with one quarter remaining in the game.

Warren Snyder knotted the game up at six in the first minute of the fourth quarter but Rafael Real answered with a goal of his own to pull ahead for Brazil 7-6. In the final 10 seconds of the game, Bryce Hoerman scored for a final score of 7-7.
