Rio Maior, Portugal - June 29 - The USA Men's Youth National Team closed out group play at the World Aquatics Youth World Championship with a 15-6 loss to Spain. Six different players scored goals for the Americans while goalkeeper

Spain jumped in front early with a 3-0 blitz to start the game before
Grayson Taylor got one back for the United States. The Spanish side scored another before Team USA captain
Kai Kaneko converted a penalty shot goal and once more near the end of the quarter to establish a 5-2 lead. Spain scored first to begin the second period as well but
Tyler Anderson and
Jett Taylor responded with back-to-back goals for the Americans. The European side scored to widen its lead before Aden Shin beat the halftime buzzer on a power play to set the score at 7-5 in favor of Spain at the break.
It was in the second half when Spain began to take control. In the third quarter, the Spaniards held Team USA in check while putting up four goals to push the lead to 11-5. In the final frame, Spain continued its run with the first two goals for a total of six straight scores.
Lucas Ruano was able to score midway through the period but Spain shut the door with another pair of goals to secure a dominant 15-6 victory.
Team USA went 3/11 on power plays and 1/2 on penalties while Spain went 3/17 on power plays with no penalties attempted.
