USA Men's Youth Team Defeats Canada 13-5

The United States faced off against Canada on Day Four of the UANA Junior Pan American Championships. The United States played a strong offensive game with goals from eight different players to win the game 13-5. Alex Wolf and Conrad Gordon split time in the net for the United States while Yorek Hurrelmann and Simon Wu split time in net for Canada. Wolf made six saves and Gordon made four saves while Hurrelmann made eight saves.

In the first quarter, the USA took the lead early with goals by Bryce Hoerman and David Kessler while Canada remained scoreless making the score 2-0 USA.

Canada responded in the second quarter with three goals in a row by Sean Spooner and Euan Scoffield (2) to take the lead 3-2 Canada. Timothy Simenc then capitalized on a five-meter penalty shot to tie the game at three. In the final 15 seconds of the half, Warren Snyder regained the lead for the USA making the score 4-3 USA going into half time.

The United States expanded their lead in the third quarter with six goals by Thomas Dunstan (2), Kent Inoue, Hoerman, Simenc, and Kessler while not allowing Canada to score bringing the score to 10-3 USA.

In the fourth quarter, Inoue and Matthew Maier both scored to build the USA's lead to 12-3. Canada's Matthew Halajian scored soon after which was then answered by the USA's Bennett William. Canada's Dusan Boskovic scored the last goal of the game on a five-meter penalty shot for a final score of 13-5.
