Larnie Boquiren

Larnie Boquiren joined USA Water Polo in October 2016 as the full-time Athletic Trainer of USA Women’s Water Polo. Boquiren is in charge of evaluating and assessing injuries, designing and implementing treatment and rehabilitation plans, and providing injury prevention and recovery methods to the U.S. Women’s National Team players. As a traveling member of the staff, her daily duties include administering pre-practice treatments, monitoring practice, rehabilitation, and post-practice treatments, and providing recovery treatments.

Prior to USA Water Polo, Boquiren served as the head athletic trainer at the Crossroads School (Santa Monica, CA) where she worked with its middle school and high school athletic programs from August 2008 until October 2015. She also served as a seasonal assistant athletic trainer for USA Volleyball for five seasons.

Boquiren earned her undergraduate degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from Cal State Fullerton in 2004. She completed her master’s degree in sports health care from Arizona School of Health Sciences, A.T. Still University. Following graduate school, Boquiren completed a fellowship program with the New Hampshire Musculoskeletal Institute.

Boquiren also has advanced training in manual therapy techniques and orthopedic assessment.
