Mai Lam

Mai Lam joined USA Water Polo in November 2009, as Executive Assistant to CEO Christopher Ramsey. In this role spanning 15 years, Mai assisted Chris with day-to-day operations in addition to supporting in the execution of key USA Water Polo events such as the Assembly, Hall of Fame Induction, National Team events and ongoing fundraising programs. Mai also handled all matters pertaining to operating the office headquarters in Huntington Beach and currently Irvine. With the retirement of Mr. Ramsey in 2024, Mai transitioned to Director of Office Operations and continues to manage day-to-day operations.

Prior to joining USA Water Polo, Mai dedicated 15 years to El Modeno Gardens, Inc. In her early years there, Mai worked in information technology as assistant manager. Due to her uniquely acquired skill sets, she was moved to key accounts where the position of Senior Sales Analyst was created for her. Mai retrieved, analyzed and organized sales data into marketing & sales reports which immensely aided the company and ushered in an era of explosive growth.

A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, Mai earned her BA in Social Sciences. Mai raised three sons, Kennedy, Tyler and Reagan. A 2019 grad from UC Santa Cruz, Kennedy danced competitively since age 5 and has been the crowd-favorite dancing Shieldy in NJO’s since 2021. He is currently a Disneyland cast member, Woodbridge HS dance teacher and is focused on broadening his choreography skills. Tyler led his high school water polo team to CIF finals under Coach Cesar Altamirano in 2018. During his pandemic gap years from UC Berkeley, Tyler took JC classes while coaching boys’ and girls’ water polo at his alma mater Tustin HS. He is currently en route to 2025 Cal graduation with BA in Integrative Biology. Like brother Tyler, Reagan also played competitive water polo for 12 years and earned coaches’ Varsity MVP & Scholar Athlete awards. Reagan is currently a junior at Cal studying ME and aims to graduate in 2027 with P&G, Tesla, Intuitive Surgical and Formlabs internships completed. In her spare time, Mai is an amateur photographer, gardening enthusiast and loves to cook.
