Chris Bates

Chris is a proud husband and father who has passionately practiced within the professions of human performance and movement for well over a decade, both as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS*D). Currently, Chris serves as the Men’s Sports Medicine Manager and Head Athletic Trainer for USA Water Polo where he provides primary medical support and care for the Men’s Senior National Team and assists with the oversight of medical support and care for the Olympic Development Teams. Prior to his roles with USA Water Polo, Chris led the charge in creating and developing the Lancers’ Athletic Performance Development program at California Baptist University, which was the school’s first legitimate strength and conditioning program for its Athletics department and is still thriving more than a decade later.

Bates is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton’s Athletic Training Education program.

Beyond service to his family and employer, Chris exists to address the human potential in all whom he encounters, helping them manage and navigate the risks and severities of injury that life brings while optimizing overall wellness.
