Week 3 Of 2026 National League Concludes In Los Angeles County

March 23 - Week 3 of the 2026 USA Water Polo Men's National League concluded this past weekend in Southern California. Following the third week of action, Los Angeles Athletic Club continues to hold the top spot in the Red Division and New York Athletic Club is on top of the Blue Division overall standings as they have played one more game than Mission who is undefeated. In 18U action, Channel Islands United finds itself in first place with one more game played than the closest competitors, Newport and Dons WPC. For complete Week 3 results, click here. Los Angeles Athletic Club Adds Dodd And Keeps Rolling: Los Angeles Athletic Club made a big splash with the addition of Olympic bronze medalist Ryder Dodd from Mission. LAAC continued its winning ways in dominant fashion with the new firepower, defeating USA B (19-9), Riptide (22-8), and Riverside (23-10). Ryder Dodd paid dividends right away with five goals against USA B while his brother, Olympic bronze medalist Chase Dodd, scored four in the win. Ryder Dodd upped his scoring to six goals versus Riptide as Vuk Kojic and Diego Tresa each added four scores in victory. LAAC closed its weekend slate against Riverside where Tresa led the way with five goals buoyed by Ryder Dodd and Bryce Hoerman with four goals apiece.

New York Athletic Club Picks Up Trio Of Wins: New York Athletic Club took care of business in Week 3 with wins over NL Lions (25-14), USA Youth (16-9), and South County (24-10). NYAC got balanced scoring contributions against NL Lions with Gianpiero Di Martire, Massimo Di Martire, Gavin Appeldorn, and Olympic bronze medalist Marko Vavic all recording hat tricks in the victory. Vavic scored five goals and Massimo Di Martire netted four goals versus USA Youth in the middle match of the weekend. Finally, NYAC was dominant against South County and Thomas Leggett notched four goals to lead the way in the win.

Channel Islands United Takes Charge In SoCal 18U Division: The 18u Channel Islands United team surged into first place following a three-win week in Malibu. CIU got the best of Trojan (14-12), Mission (13-9), and La Jolla United (21-12) before dropping its final game to San Diego Shores (12-15). In the opener, River Davis paced CIU with four goals and five steals in the win over Trojan. Darion Wang stepped up with three goals and four assists for CIU in victory against Mission. During the biggest game of the week, Davis scored four and was joined by Ivan Khramtsov and Jack Pointner with four goals each in a huge showing versus La Jolla United. In the lone CIU loss of the week, Davis and Anden Valdez scored three each against San Diego Shores.

Game of the Week Summary: Los Angeles Athletic Club vs Riptide
In Week 3, Los Angeles Athletic Club and Riptide faced off in the Open Division Game of the Week at Crespi Carmelite High School. LAAC was all over Riptide from the jump as the game started with a quick 3-0 lead. Riptide battled back to match LAAC with three goals each the rest of the opening quarter to leave LAAC ahead, 6-3. The second quarter is when the game was won as Kojic, Ryder Dodd (3), Tresa, and Chase Dodd notched six goals while Riptide went scoreless into halftime to confirm a 12-3 advantage for LAAC. In the third period, LAAC put home five to Riptide's two, and the fourth quarter was almost identical as a 6-3 score for LAAC solidified the 22-8 final score. Dane Howell led Riptide with three goals as Reed Pantaleon and Michael Minera added two apiece in defeat.

Game of the Week Summary: 18u Channel Islands United vs 18u La Jolla United
Channel Islands United and La Jolla United met in the 18u Division Game of the Week at Pepperdine University. CIU got out to a 3-0 start before La Jolla could respond with a pair of goals but CIU had the final word of the quarter to hold a 4-2 lead after one. La Jolla pulled within one by halftime with a 3-2 edge in the second period. CIU began to put distance between themselves and La Jolla with Davis, Wang, and Pointner goals to begin the second half. Those led to a two-goal third quarter advantage leaving the score at 12-9 heading into the final frame. CIU would leave no doubt in the fourth as they scored nine goals to overpower La Jolla and claim the 21-12 victory. Quinn Daniels scored five goals while Sebastian Nudleman and Walter Mundt put home two each for La Jolla in the loss.

Save City: There were some great goal keeping performances this weekend as Long Beach AF's William Whitstone notched 17 saves versus USA Youth and Mission's Nathan Tauscher recorded 12 saves against South County. 18u Shore Aquatic's Marcelo Cerna tallied nine saves versus 18u San Diego Shores.

League Leaders: Long Beach AF's Gabriel Acosta leads the open age division in goals scored (35) while 18u La Jolla United's Quinn Daniels is the 18U division top scorer (44). NL Lions goalkeeper Adrian Ramirez leads the open age division with 76 saves as 18u Aetos goalkeeper Zane Kieckhafer sits in first in the 18u division at 81 saves. USA Youth's Tyler Anderson is the open age division leader in earned exclusions (46) while 18u Channel Islands United's Ivan Khramtsov leads the 18u division (37).

6-8 Sports +/- Leaders: USA Youth's Tyler Anderson leads the way in the open age division with a +59.4 plus/minus. Los Angeles Athletic Club's Ryder Dodd is in second at +53 and Fight On's Strahinja Krstic comes in at number three with a +45.7 mark. 18u La Jolla United's Quinn Daniels leads the 18u age division at +62.5 plus/minus. 18u Dons WPC's Eamon Bruhn is second (+56.1) and 18u Dons WPC's Maximus Bruhn comes in at number three (+54.6).
