Mission Continues To Roll: Mission continued its winning ways in Week 2 with another 3-0 slate. Mission upended Trojan (20-16) to start followed by wins over Channel Cats (16-14) and Lions (16-8). Ryder Dodd was unstoppable on Friday versus Trojan with seven goals, four assists, one block, and one steal. In its closest game of the weekend, Frederico Jucá Carsalade led Mission against Channel Cats by producing three goals and one assist. To close, Mission doubled up Lions behind Ryder Dodd and Carsalade who scored five and four goals, respectively.
The Olympic Club Joins The Fray: Absent from Week 1 competition, The Olympic Club arrived in Week 2 ready to go as evidenced by a 4-0 record. To start, The Olympic Club handled Riptide (17-9) behind a pair of hat tricks from Colin Mulcahy and Thomas Carroll. Next, The Olympic Club defeated Anteater (19-8) as Riley Pittman had four goals, three steals, and one block. Sunday morning brought a dominant victory over Sunset WPC (25-7) in which five players recorded hat tricks: Johnny Hooper, Nicholas Tierney, Paul Reynolds, Mulcahy, and Pittman. To close the weekend slate, The Olympic Club beat New York Athletic Club (15-13) to hand NYAC its first loss on the season. Reynolds was stellar on the afternoon with four goals, two steals, and one assist.
Los Angeles Athletic Club Right There: Los Angeles Athletic Club is the highest in the National League standings outside of the conference leaders after Week 2. LAAC began the week with a victory over Long Beach AF (12-8) in which Carson Kranz, Bryce Hoerman, and Max Miller each scored twice. Next, LAAC lost a heart breaker to Trojan (25-24) after a lengthy penalty shootout. At the end of regulation, the scored was level at 16-16 and West Temkin came up with one block in the shootout but it was not enough. Max Casabella and Andras Toth both scored six in defeat. Finally, LAAC rebounded with a convincing win over Channel Islands (20-9) to close its weekend slate. Toth and Luca Provenziani put home four goals each to lead the offensive explosion.
Save City: USA Pipeline's goalkeeper Jaxon Leach was on fire with 17 saves against Riverside and 12 versus New York Athletic Club this week. Anteater's John Borders notched 13 saves against Riptide and Long Beach AF's Sergi Ramon Torrent tallied 13 versus Los Angeles Athletic Club.
League Leaders: Trojan's Jack Martin and Robert Lopez Duart are tied for the National League's top scorer with 21 goals through Week 2. Lions' goalkeeper Finn Friedland leads the league with 52 saves while USA Pipeline's Landon Akerstrom sits atop the sprint winner leader board with 8.
6-8 Sports +/- Leaders: Robert Lopez Duart leads the way at +37 through two weeks of competition. Jack Martin is in second at +34 and Anteater's Wyley Dale comes in at number three with a +31.1 mark.
