Men's National Team Athletes Ready For Club Season Overseas

Water Polo Passport 2024-25

Irvine, CA - September 26 - The USA Men's Senior National Team will have multiple athletes head to Europe for the club season again this year. One year after 17 members of the Men's National Team capped up for some of the top clubs abroad, a variety of countries have welcomed ten Team USA athletes for the 2024-25 season. Some athletes have been competing for their clubs for multiple years while others make the move to a new club this season. The international water polo landscape features numerous athletes with experience at the USA Water Polo and NCAA levels; here's a closer look at current members of the Team USA pipeline.

Eight members of the Bronze Medal-winning men's roster from the 2024 Paris Olympics are competing abroad, including captain Ben Hallock who stays with Pro Recco in Italy for a fifth season. Max Irving will stick with Brescia and Marko Vavic remains with Savona - both entering a second season with their clubs in Italy. Luca Cupido moves within Italy, going from Ortigia to Camogli, while goalkeeper Drew Holland leaves Peristeri in Greece for TeliMar in Italy.

Adrian Weinberg, the Top Goalkeeper from this summer's Olympics, joins the Greek club Chios to begin his professional career following three consecutive NCAA Championships at UC Berkeley. Alex Bowen departs Noisy-le-Sec in Paris for CN Sabadell in Barcelona while Dylan Woodhead remains with Vouliagmeni in Greece.

The lefty Tyler Abramson returns to Europe as well, moving from Spandau 04 in Germany to Bologna DeAkker in Italy, while Quinn Woodhead transfers from TeliMar to Roma Vis Nova in Italy.

"I am proud of our team and everything we accomplished in Paris. Something you saw in France was the result of years of hard work and getting better by playing against the best. Our guys are in demand by some of the best clubs in Europe and that continues to be true this fall. It is great to see more than half our Olympic team return to major club play plus the Dodd brothers competing at UCLA. I look forward to cheering all of them on this season," said Dejan Udovicic, USA Men's Senior National Team Head Coach.
