Savona escaped with a victory over Sabadell after a penalty shootout. Alex Bowen scored once in regulation and again in the shootout for Sabadell but it was not enough against the Italians. Savona gets a big win as they await the services of Marko Vavic.

Team USA athletes were busy in Italy, starting with a matchup between captain Ben Hallock (Recco) and goalkeeper Drew Holland (TeliMar). Hallock recorded a hat trick in a nine-goal win for Recco. Elsewhere, attacker Max Irving scored once for Brescia in a win over Catania leaving Brescia and Recco tied atop the Serie A1 standings through five rounds. Tyler Abramson helped Bologna De Akker to its first road win against Florentia while Savona and Roma Vis Nova each picked up wins before Vavic and Quinn Woodhead arrive.
