Bucharest, Romania - June 15 - The USA Men's Junior National Team held off a fourth quarter rally from Montenegro to secure a 10-9 win in the quarterfinal round of the World Aquatics Junior World Championships. Ryder Dodd did the job on offense once again, leading the way with four goals while West Temkin recorded 12 saves in net. Montenegro opened the match in a strong fashion going in front 2-0. Team USA battled back with four straight goals and took a 4-3 lead going into the second quarter. Team USA built a two-goal lead once more in the second quarter but Montenegro chipped away, cutting it to one at halftime. Ryder and Chase Dodd teamed up for two of the first three goals in the period to give the United States an 8-6 lead. After Montenegro got to within one, William Schneider scored with time winding down to build a 9-7 lead as played moved to the fourth. About halfway through the fourth quarter Ben Liechty hit on a power play for a 10-7 lead. Montenegro scored the next two but would get no closer as Team USA held on for the one goal victory.
