Just days after Team USA edged Canada by the same score to start play in Peru, it was another tight battle. This time Canada went ahead 3-2 after one before Team USA leveled things at 4-4 at intermission. The two sides were even in the third quarter, deadlocked at 7-7 going to the fourth. A Sawyer Rhodes power play goal with less than a minute to play gave the United States an important two goal cushion and they held on for the one goal victory.
Team USA went 2/6 on power plays and 2/2 on penalties while Canada was 3/9 on power plays with no penalties attempted.
