Kuwait City, Kuwait - December 18 - The Men's Junior National Team lost 15-12 to Greece in a shootout in the quarterfinal round at the 2019 FINA Junior World Championships in Kuwait City, Kuwait.
Jake Ehrhardt and Quinten Osborne led Team USA's offense with three goals each.
Adrian Weinberg and
Kent Emden split time in the goal with Weinberg tallying eight saves and Emden grabbing 7. Next up Team USA takes on Spain on December 19 at 6:20 am pt.

Team USA got off to a great start as they began the game on a 4-0 run powered by 2 goals from Osborne, but Greece fought back with two late goals as Team USA took a 4-2 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Ash Molthen would put Team USA up 5-2 early in the second, but Greece responded with back to back goals to cut Team USA's advantage to 1. Team USA replied by outscoring Greece 2-1 to regain a two goal lead at the half.
Team USA continued to push on offense as back to back goals by
Hannes Daube and
Quinn Woodhead upped the Team USA advantage to 9-5. Greece didn't give up though as they scored two power play goals and a penalty to pull back within one. Greece would take their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter as they scored back to back goals to take a 10-9 lead. Ehrhardt then responded with back to back goals to put Team USA up 11-10, but Greece fired home the tying goal with :01 second left to send the game to penalties where the USA fell by the score of 15-12.
Team USA went 4/14 on power plays while Greece went 6/13 on power plays while neither team attempted a penalty.
