2017 Junior Olympics Session One Complete; Champions Crowned

Irvine, CA - July 26 - Session 1 of the 2017 Junior Olympics came to a close yesterday at the William Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine and surrounding venues with medalists crowned in a variety of divisions. In the Platinum Division finals, the 18U boys gold medal went to Vanguard who defeated Santa Barbara Premier 14-7 with Northwood downing Regency 10-7 for bronze. In 16U Stanford doubled up Trojan 10-5 to take gold while San Diego Shores edged 680 Red A 8-7 for bronze. 14U saw SOCAL Black win gold with an 8-5 win over Vanguard and Rose Bowl Red earn bronze defeating CC United 5-2. The 12U gold medal game went to a shootout with Vanguard prevailing over Newport Beach 4.4-4.1 and Greenwich Aquatics won bronze defeating 680 Red 8-7. Last but not least in the 10U girls competition Laguna Beach took gold winning 5-3 over Huntington Blue and Vanguard earned bronze moving past Commerce 6-5.
