BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- In the wake of the conference championship tournaments, the University of California-Los Angeles remains the No. 1 team in the land for another week as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 16/May 3 Women's Varsity Top 25 and final Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10 Polls for the 2017 season.
The Bruins remain No. 1 for a third week in a row after capturing the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship over the weekend. Stanford University and the University of Southern California, both of which preceded UCLA at No. 1 during the 2017 campaign, follow at No. 2 and 3 as the triumvirate remains the three dominant programs in women's varsity water polo through the conclusion of the regular season and conference championship weekends.
In the CWPA Top 10, league champion the University of Michigan remains on top as the final rankings mirror the order of finish at 1-9 from the CWPA Championship. CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College holds the final position in the league rankings.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the CWPA, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Big West Conference, Golden Coast Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Women's Varsity polls are compiled and released on each Wednesday during the season through the week following the NCAA Championship.
2017 WOMEN'S VARSITY NATIONAL TOP 25 (WEEK 16/MAY 3)

Another week, another Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) title and another No. 1 ranking for the University of California-Los Angeles as the Bruins remain a unanimous top choice in Week 16/May 3 Women's Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
UCLA (100 points), which displaced former No. 1 Stanford University (96 points) to drop the Cardinal into a tie at No. 2 with fellow previously top-ranked the University of Southern California (92 points) two weeks ago, retains its spot on top of the national stage.
Stanford (96 points) and USC (92 points) remain at No. 2 and 3, respectively, with the University of California (87 points) moving up to No. 4. The University of California-Irvine (82 points) and Arizona State University (82 points) rise and fall into a tie at No. 5 with the University of Michigan (76 points) holding firm at No. 7.
The remainder of the Top 10 experiences significant changes as University of the Pacific (70 points) rises two places to No. 8, Long Beach State University (66 points) cracks the upper echelon of the rankings by jumping three spots to No. 9 and Princeton University (63 points) backs up one position to rate at No. 10.
No. 11-to-15 also experiences changes as the University of Hawaii (62 points) slips to No. 11 with the University of California-Davis (55 points) inching to No. 12. San Diego State University (48 points) and Hartwick College (48 points) are now tied at No. 13 with the University of California-San Diego (42 points) taking over at No. 15.
Harvard University (34 points), Wagner College (32 points) and Indiana University (31 points) rate at No. 16-to-18, respectively, with the duo of the University of California-Santa Barbara (30 points) and California State University-Northridge (30 points) standing in a tie at No. 19.
San Jose State University (22 points), CSU Bakersfield (20 points), Loyola Marymount University (18 points), Marist College (8 points) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (2 points) complete the Top 25 by holding down the No. 21-to-25 slots.

2017 WOMEN'S CWPA TOP 10 (WEEK 16/MAY 3/FINAL)

The University of Michigan completes a wire-to-wire season in which the Wolverines led the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10 Poll from the preseason rankings to the final league ratings of the 2017 season as the Maize & Blue captured their second consecutive CWPA title to wrap-up the year at No. 1 in the Week 16/May 3 CWPA Top 10 Poll.
The rankings reflect the order of finish at the CWPA Championship which occured over the weekend at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, as saw the Wolverines (100 points) downed Princeton University, 5-4, in the title game.
Princeton (95 points) stands at No. 2 with Hartwick College (88 points) remaining at No. 3. Harvard University (86 points) and Indiana (81 points) complete the Top Five, with Bucknell University (75 points) and Brown University (70 points) exchanging positions from the Week 15 rankings to rate at No. 6 and 7.
Due to a victory in the opening round of the tournament, Saint Francis University (63 points) slips past George Washington University (62 points) to take over at No. 8 and drop the Colonials back to No. 9.
2017 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College rounds out the Top 10.
