The winner of the S & R Sport Referee of the Month for August 2014 is Mike Stewart of the Southern Pacific Zone. For winning referee of the month Mike receives a $50 gift certificate to SRSport.com.

Mike has been a fixture on the Water Polo Scene for many, many years as a player, parent, part time coach, and of course a referee.

His passion and dedication to the sport is unparalleled and we are indeed fortunate to count him among the ranks of USA Water Polo Referees.

Mike is a solid, well respected, experienced referee, and he has excelled at just about every level he has had the opportunity to officiate.

Not only is Mike dedicated to his craft, but he has also taken on a huge leadership role in the recruitment, training, and ongoing education of referees in his home Southern Pacific Zone.  The program that he has developed has become a model for other Zones across the country.

Most recently Mike participated in USA Water Polo's National Junior Olympics in a Leadership Role where he played an integral role in the operation and Referee Management of the event for which we are most grateful.
