Bucharest, Romania - June 28 - The USA Men's National Team fell to Germany 12-11 in an exhibition match played in Romania earlier today. John Mann (Newport Beach, CA/California/NYAC) scored three goals in the loss while McQuin Baron (North Tustin, CA/Mater Dei HS/United) and Jon Sibley (Lafayette, CA/California/Lamorinda) split time in net. Team USA closes out their stay in Romania with a match against Romania on Sunday. From there they head to Germany for additional common training.
The two teams were even after the first period tied at 3-3. From there Germany surged ahead in the second period outscoring the United States 4-3 to build a 7-6 lead at intermission. Team USA battled back in the third, scoring three goals to pull the match even at 9-9 going to the fourth. Germany would have the last word as they were able to score three more goals in the third to take the match 12-11.
The United States was expectional on the power play converting on 4/5 attempts and keeping Germany to just 1/9.
