Tales From Tumua: New Jamba Drink

May 29, 2013

Following winning gold in London this past summer, we have been able to take some time off. Some girls have since retired, some played at their respective colleges and some of us were able to train here in California. But this past week we were able to play our first games since the gold medal match in London! It was a fun experience being back in game mode, but with a new team and a new energy!

But with a team like ours, there is tradition. One of our favorite team traditions is meeting for coffee before our games. We do it when we have games at home and we make a point of doing it when we travel abroad. It's a fun way for us to get connected before the game and to hang out with each other outside of the pool. Since I don't drink coffee, I usually like to grab a quick Jamba that I bring to our pre-game ritual. So, I thought it would be fun to try something new. New team, new game...so new drink!

This post is dedicated to a new fun find! I'm not a coffee drinker, I'm not big on soda...but that doesn't mean I don't need a drink with an energy kick in it! Thats where the Jamba Juice All Natural Energy Drink comes in. Packed with delicious strawberry, apple and banana puree it keeps your taste buds coming back for more. I've tried different energy drinks for various reasons. Yet, what has pushed me away was the artificial taste. This drink had me wanting to finish the whole can, because the taste was similar to a sparkling fruit soda. It was the perfect pick me up, in replacement for a coffee or soda. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this product tasted, and I'd encourage you all to try it for yourself!

We played 6 games this past week to qualify for FINA World League in Beijing China! I was able to have an Energy Drink before each match, and look like to worked out well, because we won each of our 6 games! So, make sure to follow along as we play in Beijing! GO USA!
