Since this is my first blog post, ill tell you a few things about myself. My name is Tumua Anae, Im a member of the USA Women's Water Polo team and I am a Jamba Juice junkie. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you one of my quirks is my love for fresh squeezed juices. So it was fate, when I fell in love with the smoothies and juices at Jamba.
Each month I will give you some insight into my Jamba Juice adventures. I love to try new things, and with summer coming soon, its the perfect weather to enjoy a smoothie! Before I go further, I need to pay homage to my favorite, go-to smoothie. The Citrus Squeeze at Jamba Juice has been a staple of my existence since elementary school. It's fruity, tangy taste leaves me ALWAYS satisfied. On the nutrition side, with an immunity boost or protein boost it is such a benefit to my body when Im training. As an athlete, I need to recover from my work outs and I need energy to get me through my next training. As a team we typically train 30 hours a week. We lift, run, jump, swim, play water polo and everything in between. So it's safe to say, my body needs good vitamins and nutrients.
Thats where my two loves come together. My love for smoothies and juices and my love to play water polo. Work, play, smoothie! Since we are officially in the swing of spring I tried the new Tropical Harvest Smoothie, and let me tell you...i want another one! Not only is it easy on the eyes, it is easier on the taste buds and body. It's the perfect combination of sweet fruit and delectable veggie juice. I cant say enough about this smoothie. I was able to try a Tropical Harvest Smoothie after a hard weight session. With the smoothie and some steel cut oatmeal, it was the perfect breakfast recovery meal. It was a breakfast that left me feeling replenished and perfectly satisfied. While I love my fruity smoothies, this took its nutritional value to another level. With the inclusion of the veggie juice (squash, sweet potato and carrot) I was able to get in a healthy serving of veggies, without sacrificing the taste I love.
Another satisfied Jamba experience for this thirsty athlete!
Until next time,
Tumua Anae
