Huntington Beach, Calif. - May 2, 2013-- James Callahan has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer of USA Water Polo, according to CEO Christopher Ramsey. Callahan oversees financial management and controls at USA Water Polo, and has implemented a number of administrative refinements during his tenure. A CPA with over 30 years of experience he has become a key member of USA Water Polo's management team in the last three years.
"Jim is an outstanding executive, who has brought a strong work ethic, vast experience and an impressive professional skill set to our organization," said Ramsey. "I am excited about Jim helping us grow by using his experience in franchise management to help provide more resources and assistance."
In other personnel news, Greg Mescall has been promoted to Director of Communications and Caroline Acosta has been promoted to Marketing Manager.
Greg is one of USA Water Polo's longest tenured staffers and a veteran of two summer Olympic Games. In his expanded role, Greg will be tasked with further strengthening communication and transparency with membership. Greg is the editor of Skipshot magazine and the voice of USA Water Polo broadcasts. He also oversees USAWP's social media (facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, youtube), followings for each of which he has grown to among the top 20% of all USOC NGBs. Most recently, Greg managed the transition to USAWP's new website on the CBS platform.
Since joining USA Water Polo two years ago, Acosta has quickly become an integral part of day-to-day sponsor fulfillment efforts. As the organization's sponsorship roster grew to over 40, Acosta adeptly tracked efforts on each sponsor's behalf, helping insure a successful sponsorship renewal period. She also provides in-house design services, helps deliver a consistent brand experience at each national event, and supports the marketing department in a variety of other ways.
