USA Men Topple Argentina 13-3 Advance To Semifinals

Calgary, Canada - February 1 - The USA Men's National Team made it two straight victories with a 13-3 win over Argentina on Friday evening. Nikola Vavic (Palos Verdes, CA/USC), JP MacDonell (Redwood City, CA/Pepperdine/Olympic Club) and Jeffrey Schwimer (Beverly Hills, CA/Stanford/NYAC) each scored twice in the victory. Chay Lapin (Long Beach, CA/UCLA/NYAC) went the whole way in goal stopping 18 shots. Ten different scorers found the cage for the United States on the way to the win. Team USA advances to the semifinals where they will meet Argentina on Saturday evening.

The United States dominated from the beginning leading 3-1 after the first period and 5-1 at halftime. In the third period Team USA continued to cruise in the third period as Schwimer scored twice en route to a 9-2 lead. Team USA put the match away in the fourth with four more goals, allowing just one from Argentina for 13-3 advantage and a victory.

Team USA went 3/8 on power plays and 2/2 on penalties while Argentina was 2/6 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty shot.
