BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The University of Southern California remains the No. 1 team in the nation as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the October 23/Week 7 Men's Varsity National Top 20, Division III Top 10 and CWPA Top 10 Polls.
USC (100 points), which defeated then No. 1 University of California-Los Angeles (96 points) 12-11 in overtime two weeks ago to avenge a 9-8 loss to the Bruins last month, returns to being a unanimous top selection with 100 points.
In the Division III Top 10 Poll, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges holds onto the top spot with 96 points to outdistance Whittier College (93 points) and Johns Hopkins University (90 points) for the No. 1 position.
The lone newcomer to the national leaders is St. Francis College Brooklyn as the Terriers garnered 98 points to edge out former league leader Princeton University (94 points) and Bucknell University (93 points) in the CWPA league rankings.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the CWPA, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
2013 Men's Varsity National Top 20 (Week 7)
The University of Southern California (100 points) does more than just hold onto the No. 1 position in the October 23/Week 7 National Top 20 Poll - the Trojans picked up all the first place votes to reign as the unanimous top team in the nation.
Overall, USC leads a National Top 20 which experienced few changes from the October 16/Week 6 rankings as the first 12 positions in the poll remain consistent from last week.
The University of California-Los Angeles (93 points), the University of the Pacific (90 points), Stanford University (87 points), theUniversity of California (80 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (75 points), Long Beach State University (70 points), the University of California-Irvine (65 points), Pepperdine University (60 points) and Concordia University (55 points) remain in line behind the Trojans to complete the Top 10.
The University of California-Davis (50 points) and the University of California-San Diego (42 points) stay at No. 11 and 12, while Loyola Marymount University (37 points) gains company at No. 13 as Saint Francis College Brooklyn (37 points) inches into a tie after rating at No. 14 last week.
Princeton University (29 points) and Santa Clara University (28 points) stay at No. 15 and 16, withCalifornia Baptist University (17 points) moving up to No. 17. Bucknell University (13 points) and
Harvard University (9 points) take over at No. 18 and 19, while the United States Air Force Academy (7 points) and Brown University (7 points) compete the Top 20 in a tie for the final place.

2013 Men's Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 7)
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (96 points) holds on at No. 1 for the third consecutive week in the October 23/Week 7 Division III Top 10 Poll.
CMS, which rose to the top position in Division III water polo two weeks ago, leads a Top 10 which experienced minor changes from the October 16 voting.
Whittier College (93 points), Johns Hopkins University (90 points), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (85 points) and the University of Redlands (80 points) remain at No. 2-to-5, while California Lutheran University (73 points) and theMassachusetts Institute of Technology (68 points) hang on at No. 6 and 7, respectively, for another week.
Chapman University (60 points) returns to the Top 10 at No. 8, with the University of La Verne (49 points) and Washington & Jefferson College (47 points) completing the Top 10.

2013 Men's Varsity CWPA Top 10 (Week 7)
For the first time since September 11, a team other than Princeton University holds sole possession of the No. 1 ranking in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) as Saint Francis College Brooklyn(98 points) returns to the top position in the October 23/Week 7 CWPA Top 10 Poll.
The Terriers, which rank No. 13 in the National Top 20, bypasses the Tigers (94 points) to take over the No. 1 position for the first time since tying with Princeton for the top spot onSeptember 18. The defending league champion, St. Francis last held sole possession of the No. 1 position onSeptember 11.
Bucknell University (93 points) remains at No. 3, while Johns Hopkins University (83 points) inches up to No. 4 after claiming the CWPA Division III Championship over the weekend. George Washington University(76 points) and Harvard University (76 points) are tied at No. 5, with Fordham University (63 points) staying at No. 7.
Brown University (45 points), which finished second to Princeton at the Ivy Championship over the weekend, moves up to No. 8, with Iona College (39 points) and Mercyhurst University (37 points) rounding out the Top 10.
