BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The University of California-Los Angeles, University of Maryland and Grove City College hold onto their No. 1 rankings for another week, while Occidental College climbs to No. 1 in the National Division III rankings as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) released the Week 7/March 7 Women's Varsity National Top 20, Division III Top 10, CWPA Division I/II Top 10 and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Colleigate Water Polo Association, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Big West Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls are compiled and released on each Wednesday during the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
2012 Women's Varsity National Top 20
The University of California-Los Angeles remains on top of a 2012 Women's Varsity Week 7/March 7 National Top 20 Poll.
UCLA (99 points), which took over the top spot last week, leads a Top 10 which experienced two changes this week.
Stanford University (96 points), University of Southern California (91 points) and University of California (85 points) remain at No. 2-to-4, respectively, while Arizona State University (79 points) moves up one place to supplant San Diego State University (75 points) at No. 5.
Loyola Marymount University (71 points), University of California-Irvine (65 points) and University of Michigan (55 points) continue at No. 7 through No. 9 with San Jose State University (54 points) breaking into the Top 10.
University of Maryland (52 points), Indiana University (48 points), California State University-Northridge(37 points), University of Hawaii (33 points) and University of California-Davis (26 points) make up No. 11-through-15.
Former No. 10-ranked University of California-Santa Barbara (24 points) falls into a tie with Hartwick College (24 points) at No. 16 in the wake of UCSB dropping a 7-6 game to newly crowned Division III No. 1-ranked Occidental College.
Princeton University (19 points), Long Beach State University (12 points) and University of California-San Diego (5 points) round out the Top 20.

2012 Women's Varsity Division III Top 10
On the heels of a 7-6 upset of previously No. 10-nationally ranked the University of California-Santa Barbara, Occidental College (99 points) leaps two spots to No. 1 in the Women's Varsity Division III Week 7/March 7 Top 10 poll.
It ends a three-week run by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (96 points) in the top spot as the Sagehens fall to No. 2 to drive previous runner-up the University of Redlands (90 points) back to No. 3.
Overall, Occidental's victory caused a ripple effect in the Top 10 as California Lutheran University (83 points) moves up to No. 4 and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (81 points) slips to No. 5.
Chapman University (74 points), Whittier College (70 points), University of La Verne (67 points) andGrove City College (60 points) rank at No. 6-through-No. 9, with Wheaton College (22 points) and theCalifornia Institute of Technology (22 points) tying for the 10th position.

2012 Women's CWPA Division I/II Top 10
The University of Maryland (97 points) continues to top the league rankings as the Terrpains continue at No. 1 in the Week 7/March 7 CWPA Division I/II Top 10 Poll.
Overall, the poll changed very little from its February 29 incarnation as the only adjustment came at No. 2 where the University of Michigan (94 points) climbs into a tie with Western Division archnemesis Indiana University (94 points).
The remainder of the rankings remain unchanged as Princeton University (84 points), Hartwick College (81 points), Harvard University (75 points), Brown University (70 points), Bucknell University (65 points), George Washington University (60 points) andMercyhurst College (55 points) held firm at No. 4-through-10 for another week.

2012 Women's CWPA Division III Top 5
Grove City College remained a unanimous selection as the No. 1 team in the Week 7/March 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Top Five Poll for the eighth consecutive week dating back to the preseason balloting.
The first changes of the season occurred in the poll as Washington & Jefferson College (89 points) moves up to No. 3 to trail only the Wolverines and Carthage College(93 points).
Wheaton College (86 points), which stood at No. 3 last week, drops back to No. 4 withMacalester College (82 points) retaining its position at No. 5 in the league's Division III rankings.
