BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Stanford University, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Indiana University and Grove City College continued to top the rankings as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) released the Week 5/February 22 Women's Varsity National Top 20, Division III Top 10, CWPA Division I/II Top 10 and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the CWPA, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), Big West Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
2012 WOMEN'S VARSITY NATIONAL TOP 20
Limited action amongst the top ranked teams led 2011 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion Stanford University to remain the unanimous selection in the 2012 Women's Varsity Week 5/February 22 National Top 20 Poll. The rankings remain unchanged through the first 17 teams before giving way to a log jam at the backend of the rankings.
The University of Southern California (USC) (95 points), University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) (90 points), University of California-Berkeley (85 points) and Arizona State University (80 points) remained in the No. 2-through-5 rankings, respectively. The University of Hawaii (76 points), University of California-Irvine (70 points), San Jose State University (65 points), San Diego State University (61 points) were joined by Loyola Marymount University (55 points) continued to make up the No. 6-through-10 positions.
Indiana University (50 points), University of Michigan (46 points) and University of California-Davis (38 points) check in at No. 11-13 with the University of Maryland (36 points) and University of California-Santa Barbara (32 points) completing the Top 15. Hartwick College (22 points) and California State University-Northridge (21 points) conclude the list of teams remaining in place at No. 16 and No. 17, respectively. Princeton University (15 points) turned in a perfect weekend and was rewarded with the No. 18 ranking followed by the University of California-San Diego (9 points), which made its return to the Top 20. Three teams share the No. 20 ranking with CSU Bakersfield, Iona College and Long Beach State University each earning four points.

2012 WOMEN'S VARSITY DIVISION III TOP 10
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remained a concensus No. 1 in the Women's Varsity Division III Week 5/February 22 Top 10 poll after taking over top billing last week.
Occidental College (92 points) moved into a tie preseason-No. 1 University of Redlands (93 points) for the No. 2 ranking. California Lutheran University (83 points) moved into sole possession of the No. 4 ranking, leavingClaremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (81 points) to complete the Top Five. The back-half of the poll remained unchanged with Whittier College (75 points), University of La Verne (70 points), Chapman University (67 points),Grove City College (60 points) and Carthage College (44 points) making up No. 6-through-10, respectively. Wheaton College (11 points) continued to receive votes.

2012 WOMEN'S CWPA DIVISION I/II TOP 10
Several Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) teams were in action this week, but the Week 5/February 22 CWPA Division I/II Top 10 Poll showed little fluctuation as a result.
Defending CWPA Eastern Champion Indiana University (99 points), the University of Michigan (96 points) and the University of Maryland (90 points) were all idle and retained holds on the No. 1-through-3 rankings.Hartwick College (83 points) and Princeton University (82 points) complete the Top Five with Harvard University (75 points) remaining at No. 6. Brown University (69 points) emerged from a three-way tie for seventh last week to hold the No. 7 ranking alone with a perfect 4-0 weekend. Bucknell University (64 points) fell to No. 8, followed by George Washington University (62 points) and Mercyhurst University (55 points).

2012 WOMEN'S CWPA DIVISION III TOP 5
Grove City College remained a unanimous selection as the No. 1 team in an unchanged Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Top 5, garninering 100 points in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Week 5/February 22 Top Five Poll.
The 2010 and 2011 CWPA Division III champion, as the league's Division III members elected to philosophically separate from the Division I/II programs two seasons ago to contest their own championship, Grove City is striving for the program's third consecutive crown in 2012.
Carthage College (95 points) and Wheaton College (88 points) round out the Top Three with Washington & Jefferson College (85 points) and Macalester College (82 points) completing the list of ranked teams.
