Lausanne (SUI), April 15, 2011 – The draw of the World Championships Tournament was decided today in Shanghai, China, at a ceremony attended by FINA Executive Director Cornel Marculescu, FINA Technical Water Polo Committee Chairman Gianni Lonzi and Vice-Chairman Richard Foster, FINA Bureau Liaison Dimitris Diathesopoulos, FINA Bureau Member from China Qiuping Zhang, local authorities and some of the world's most distinguished water polo coaches.
The USA Men's National Team drew Group D joined alongside Italy, Germany and South Africa. The defending World Champion USA Women's National Team drew Group A alongside the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, and Hungary. The FINA World Championships are scheduled for July 16-31 in Shanghai, China.
