TURBO Named Official Outfitting Partner Of USA Water Polo

Huntington Beach, Calif. – March 7, 2011 – TURBO, a global manufacturer of water polo suits, caps, robes, and apparel has signed a two-year agreement with USA Water Polo to serve as the official outfitting partner of the National Governing Body. As part of the agreement, TURBO will outfit the USA National Teams at every level along with producing custom products for the ODP program, and serve as the title sponsor of the annual Top 40, Men's Trial Series, and 14 & U Champions Cup events, now the TURBO Top 40, TURBO Trials Series, and TURBO Champions Cup.

TURBO will produce the official uniforms worn by the National Teams at such prestigious upcoming events as the FINA World Championships, Pan American Games, and 2012 Olympic Games. Eventually, replica uniform items will be available for USA Water Polo members and fans to purchase. USA Water Polo will also produce an online video series profiling TURBO products in conjunction with their use by USA Water Polo athletes. In addition, the company will have an enhanced presence in Skip Shot magazine, the official member publication of USA Water Polo including advertisements and sponsored sections. Throughout the partnerships, members and fans will notice TURBO representatives on pool decks at many official USAWP events offering a variety of official apparel and accessory items for sale.

With headquarters based in Spain, TURBO is distributed domestically in California and is anchored in the United States by water polo greats Brad Schumacher and Wolf Wigo. Schumacher, a two-time Olympic Gold medalist in swimming at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta played for the U.S. Men's Olympic Water Polo team in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Currently he heads up one of the largest water polo clubs in USA Water Polo, Saddleback El Toro, more commonly known as SET. Wigo, a long-time captain of the Men's National Team and a three-time Olympian, competed in the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Currently he is Head Coach of the UC-Santa Barbara Men's and Women's Water Polo teams and also serves as a color commentator for NBC Olympics.

Todd Snider, a 2001 National Champion at Stanford University and a former member of Junior and Youth National teams partnered with Schumacher and Wigo in January 2011 as CEO.  "On behalf of TURBO, we are excited to align ourselves with USA Water Polo with a push for continued success at the 2012 Olympics and as a global player on the international water polo scene," said Snider.
